Experiences of environmental education from a community project in Rio Cauto, Cuba

Abstract
The present investigation gathers a significant part of the outcomes achieved through a pedagogical experience chiefly linked to the knowledge and protection of the environment. The work has been carried out in the community of Pedregalon in Urbano Noris municipality with a group of students of primary education; as well as teachers and community activists. Aiming to fulfill the objectives of a community project, through its development, many teachers from the municipal university were involved. Esencially, it links the environmental and historical fields and gives pivotal importance to the human participation; hence, students, teachers and community activists become main characters in the process of formation, as they carried out investigations through texts constructions by the Cauto riverbanks and employed the achievements of these activities to foment environmental education in that context.
