Abstract

This research shows some of the results of the execution of the project:”Sustainable rural development of Fondwa community in Haiti”. Its mean goal is to make stronger the capacity of the local people and the techniques for the rural development of this territory. This project began on March 1999 as a collaboration agreement with APF (Peasant Association of Fondwa) and Fonkozé Foundation (Bank of the Poors) both from Haití. Due to the representativity of this zone, by means of this project, there is a serie of social, economic and environmental impacts, and we have developed some strategies and methodologies for the sustainable development which can be applied in other geographic zones in Haiti, the Caribbean and the rest of the III World.
