Analysis of rainfall acidification in Cuba in the period 2012-2020

Abstract

The objective of this work is to discuss the main causes and effects of acid rains, their relationship with the meteorological conditions of each region and to analyze the current state of precipitation acidification in Cuba in the period 2012-2020. In the development of the research, annual data from each station in the country obtained in the department of the Center for Pollution and Chemistry of the Atmosphere were used, integrated into graphs that detail the behavior of the acidification of the rains. The study showed that the towns of Falla, La Palma, Santiago de Las Vegas and Casablanca are the most affected areas of the country.
