Bioremediation of petrolized sludge generated in tank cleaning

Abstract

Research consist in optimize the implementation of bioremediation process in degradation of petrolized sludge generated in the cleaning of a diesel tank in ECC Holguin. The treatment was performed to a total of 1456 L of extracted sludge. The initial chemical - microbiological characterization report a high concentration of grease and oil levels and total hydrocarbons (THC), indicative parameters of oil pollution. The results obtained show degradation of grease and oil and HCT at 140 days of process, yielding biodegradation rates of 86% and 85% respectively. Quantification of petroleum fractions: saturates, aromatics and asphaltenes, report rates of 76%, 81% and 80%, respectively at 180 days of treatment, achieving the efficient and effective process.
