General actions of environmental sustainability for producers and local communities in the northern coastal area of Camagüey, Cuba.

Abstract

The study area in the present work is the northern coastal area in Camagüey province, Cuba, which is defined up to contour of 5 meters. It consists of four municipalities and it is very rich in natural values but is also identified as a very fragile ecosystem. The overall objective of the study is to propose general measures of environmental sustainability for producers and local communities, in order to contribute to their integrated management. The results are interesting also for the strengthening of environmental assessments and studies of business risks, local governments and authorities of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.
