Environmental perceptions in Havana Canal communicators. Preliminary results

Abstract

The Havana City province has done valuable work in the identification and characterization of the major environmental challenges, all designed to improve the work environment, providing a solid foundation which allows advance the establishment of a local environmental strategy proposed under the new economic conditions that have been occurring in the territory. Involve community sectors in identifying their main environmental problems, is one of the primary goals of the institutions working for sustainable development through improved environmental planning. The formulation of alternatives for alleviating these problems and the involvement of these sectors in the pursuit of sustainable development for their community, constitutes the greatest challenge of our institutions of governance in environmental issues. Among the goals to be achieved in the environmental strategy of Havana City is enhancing the role of media in the implementation of environmental education of the whole population and community participation to solve environmental problems. It is for this reason that becomes important the evaluation of environmental perceptions of social communicators who have the task of fulfilling these purposes. On this premise we motivate to study environmental perception in social communicators from TV Channel Canal Habana
