Abstract
The characteristics of the studies for the reduction of disasters in Cuba are analyzed, that are distinguished by their anthropocentric essence that them difference of the international practice. They occur to know the objectives these studies, between which they are: to protect the human lives and their facilities - to offer to the investors the required information - to facilitate to the state organizations and of government, investors, administrators and decisors the economic appreciation of the cost of the adopted measures. - to reduce to the minimum the consequences of the affectations. Also it is explained of what the studies of danger, vulnerability and risks consist and the necessity to count on a suitable plan for the reduction of disasters
