Ecophobia, fear of the planet? Environmental education as an alternative solution

Abstract

With the situation of social isolation experienced throughout the world, as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic, psychology has come to occupy an essential place in the intervention and diagnosis. For several years now, there have been warnings about environmental phenomena (drought, climate change, loss of biodiversity, among others) that herald a possible catastrophe if work or intervention is not done for the good of the planet. The objective of this work is to raise awareness about the need to develop children's awareness, to prevent Ecophobia. The idea of ​​not presenting a catastrophic vision of the environmental situation is defended, it is not the best way for children to be interested in the problem. It is about reconnecting with nature, which is only possible with an environmental education that is planned, experienced and grounded in its reality.
