Abstract

This research is a bibliometric study of gender approach for the characterization of human capital in research institutions from the Environment Agency in the period of 2000-2010. A series of results that can be used to design and / or evaluate of science policy research centers belonging to the AMA is exposed. It aims to encourage the publication of articles in journals indexed in international databases, such as visibility and scientific impact. The academic, scientific category, and gender of researchers affiliated to the research institutes from AMA are identified; patterns of scientific collaboration established in the processes of scientific communication between authors, institutions and specialties are determined; as well as research fronts of greatest impact of the scientific production of the AMA. Was used as source for the data extraction Scopus database. Battery key to characterize the scientific output of the AMA, at the institutional level indicators are used. Visualization techniques based on social network analysis in order to determine the relationships established between authors, institutions and thematic specialization of scientific production of the AMA were used.
