Abstract

This paper resumes the main geological hazards associated to the active volcanism of the Cameroon Volcanic Line to which belongs the insular region of Equatorial Guines (the islands of Bioko, Annobón (Pagalú), Corisco, Elobey Grande and Elobey Chico) and the recent tectonic activity of that important geological structure is reviewed. Some of the structural and non-structural measures that should be accounted for the reduction of the volcanic vulnerability of the territory are mentioned.
