Portals on environment and their utility for environmental education

Abstract
Due to the great amount of available information in Internet, localization of the outstanding one is increasingly complex. This has led o the employment of technologies that could help to minimize the process. Then appear the so-called Portals that allow gathering information and services and with that user's time saving. This paper present a study of ten thematic portals on environmental issues, each one of them analyzed from the point of view of its content, issues presented, used languages, services offered, and its relations to other sites. It is pointed out the importance of portals and its utilization in the work of environmental education. It is also analyzed the Cuban environmental portal as a tool of great utility for those that are looking for information on Cuba's environmental issues.
