Abstract

The design and implementation of environmental strategies directed to the application of cleaner production concept constitute a necessity of the development, because it constitutes one more a more attractive and sustainable option than to eliminate or to mitigate the contamination, once this one has taken place. It has been demonstrated that when applying measures of cleaner production, the industries improve their productivity, reduce the costs and the polluting loads.

The Cuban petroleum and gas industry is in a stage of development and significant increase of the production levels that necessarily entail prepared increases of the technological operations and the necessity to implement practical and to introduce options, measures and technologies of cleaner production.
In the present paper the results obtained from the measures implemented for the control and saving of the water consumption are exposed, the reduction of contamination levels of ambient air, in the premises of work of liquefied gas filling plant and of concentration of polluting agents in oleos waste watery of fuels distribution installations. In addition they occur to the recommendations for the modification of the process of water treatment existing of hydroxide chemical precipitation with calcium, in the system of treatment of the water of feeding to boilers, like identified measurement and proposal for its implementation in the petroleum refinery “Hermanos Diaz”.
